As more states are looking to implement similar regulations, employers must consider offering a retirement plan of their own or use a state IRA plan. Businesses who choose to offer a retirement plan through the state IRA program, instead of starting a plan with a provider like Paychex, are required to report on employee contributions and any employee changes on a pay period basis.
